The Cirrus Aircraft Innovation Center

TKDA Designs New Cirrus Aircraft Innovation Center to Enhance Flexibility and Collaboration

When Cirrus Aircraft acquired a 189,000 SF hangar across the airfield from their Duluth headquarters on the grounds of the Duluth International Airport, TKDA worked with them to transform the facility into the state-of-the-art Cirrus Aircraft Innovation Center. The facility serves as the consolidated home for over 300 engineers, technicians, and pilots designing and testing the next generation of Cirrus aircraft.

The Cirrus Aircraft Innovation Center includes flexible workspaces and gathering areas throughout. TKDA worked with Cirrus Aircraft to create the flexible workspace area that enhances teamwork by breaking away from the traditional office and lab environment while bringing researchers, designers, and fabricators into the same shared spaces with over two dozen separate small and large group collaboration spaces. All workstations and conference rooms are fitted out with integrated Microsoft Teams collaboration equipment, allowing connectivity to the company’s network. The numerous focus rooms create privacy and one-on-one interactions as needed.
