It all started back in 2003 when I first witnessed a sprite flick called RISE OF THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM by Randy Solem of Videogamedc.com. I was immediately inspired to try and create sprite movies. Having no former experience with any animation tools, I downloaded Macromedia Flash 5 and began teaching myself the basics of flash. I had some web design experience that I taught myself before Revival Eyes was created, so setting up a website was a simple task. I set up Revival Eyes.com even before I had finished my first sprite flash, I was that eager.
Newgrounds.com was the place where I uploaded my sprite flicks and before I knew it my creations were getting featured on the frontpage. After awhile I became tired of making video game parodies, so I started drawing in flash and making my first drawn cartoon. I've always had a passion for drawing and I had learned enough about flash to create my own toons. Eventually I became ambitious enough to create a cartoon I called "Salty Swamp". I even had a couple of talented voice actors help out with the character voices, which I feel gave real life to the toon. It did fairly well at Newgrounds at the time and it lead to other short episodes afterwards. For my efforts with only a mouse, I was awarded a Wacom tablet from Tom of newgrounds.com which was sent to me in 2008 and I still use to this day.
In 2006 I became interested in music production. Mainly creating video game styled tunes which then progressed into experimental music. I find my music is always evolving and I try to make every song sound different than anything I've made. I'm still very much learning a lot about music, but I love to compose and sequence original songs. If I had the money I would build a proper studio with instruments and record a live album. That's one of many of my long term goals.
Revival Eyes is who I am. It has constantly changed as I have changed. The support and love I get from everything I make has made me realize what's important in life. Doing what you love to do, brings back love in return. You might feel discouraged in life but always strive for the things you enjoy. Don't get a job and work just because everyone else tells you to, unless you feel it's absolutely necessary for you to live by others wishes. Use your right side of the brain and get creative. Align with the right people by acting on your highest joys. Whatever it is I continue to become I hope I have inspired someone out there to become the person they really want to be. I may periodically update this section in the future.
